From Alamogordo take Hwy 82 to Cloudcroft (16 miles) At Cloudcroft make a right on Hwy 130 for 2 miles then right onto 6563 follow the signs.

From El Paso go to Alamogordo or take Hwy 506 at the Border Check Station outside Oro Grande. This crosses McGregor Range which is all dirt & gravel about 45 miles to Timberon
From Roswell, Artesia, Carlsbad & other places in the SE of NM, take Hwy 82 to the Dunken turnoff to Pinon then you will hit the 21 miles of good dirt road into Timberon. You will enter Timberon at the opposite end of the Sunspot Hwy from Cloudcroft. Just stay on that road till you come to the Fire Station & take the curve to the left. Then go right down the paved road which is Sacramento Dr.
The back roads are gravel & dirt and have been in pretty good shape but that can change with a nice big rain storm. You might want to call ahead and ask about the roads before you decide on dirt or pavement.
